The Boston Red Sox have been making moves left and right with the MLB trade deadline passing on Tuesday.

Before their series finale against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, the Red Sox made four more moves.

According to MassLive's Chris Cotillo, the team has designated reliever Yohan Ramirez for assignment, activated reliever Lucas Sims, optioned infielder Jamie Westbrook to Triple-A Worcester and called up infield Nick Sogard.

Ramirez, 29, was just claimed by Boston on Sunday. He pitched in Tuesday night's loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk in 1 1/3 inning.

Westbrook, 29, appeared in 21 games for the Red Sox, hitting just .150 with a .584 OPS, two home runs and seven RBIs.

Sims, 30, was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in a trade on Tuesday for Ovis Portes. He's posted a 3.57 ERA (4.89 FIP) and a 1.415 WHIP while striking out 40 in his 35 1/3 innings of work this year.

Sogard, 26, would be making his MLB debut if he sees time during this stint. He's currently the Red Sox's No. 36 prospect ( via SoxProspects ). In 89 games with Worcester this season, he's hit .279 with an .821 OPS, 12 home runs, 54 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
