Jaylen Brown Makes Big Announcement Amid Team USA Drama

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown hasn't let his Team USA snub stop him from making an impact off the court.

The reining NBA Finals MVP has been more than open about feeling left out from the Olympics. Three of his teammates in Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, and Jrue Holiday all made the cut ahead of him.

But despite the ill feelings, Brown remains committed to pushing his advocacies to help his local communities in Boston. Last year, the 27-year-old shared his goal of trying to bridge the wealth gap in marginalized areas by helping develop a Black Wall Street.

On Thursday, Brown posted on X that the project was set to launch. He posted a link to the project's website which clearly stated Brown's end goal. The plan is to be able to generate $5 billion in net wealth for the communities he hopes to cultivate.

"Our mission is to empower historically marginalized communities through innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and a state-of-the-art incubator," the project's mission statement read.

Brown has long been an advocate for various social causes, using his platform as an NBA star to amplify his impact.

Even before Brown signed his record-breaking $304 million extension last offseason, the man had already been vocal about uplifting others. His project to help make that happen appears to be ready to leave the runway.
