James B. Beam Distilling Co. posted on its Instagram page on Wednesday that it is releasing a vintage-inspired 16-year Old Grand-Dad Bourbon, and it's dropping at 9 a.m. Friday at Beam's American Outpost. The bourbon will be available throughout the U.S. starting Oct. 1.
Beam fans and bourbon aficionados on the social sphere expressed their approval in the comments section.
"Oh damn you sons of a mother," a user named WhiskeylandTV commented. "This is gonna be gold."
Beam shared the bourbon was aged for a minimum amount of 16 years and was inspired by  Old Grand-Dad Bourbon releases of yesteryear. The bourbon features a high rye mashbill, and features a "distinctively classic OGD flavor and body," according to Beam's socials. The vintage-inspired bright yellow label honors Old Grand-Dad expressions of the past, and users expressed their approval in the comments section below.
"OMG a bottle design to rival the Maryland style Overholt," an individual commented on the brand's Instagram page.
Though the brand's entry-level Old Grand-Dad expression is typically aged for four years, it is considered one of America's best-selling whiskeys and has a huge cult following.
