Days After Napa Grand Opening, Costco Recalls Dozens of Products

Napans who shopped at the grand opening of the city's first Costco warehouse store may want to hold onto their receipts

Touted by Mayor Scott Sedgley as "the most modern and (well-)equipped Costco in the area," the new warehouse superstore at Riversound Way and Kaiser Road may have sold food and other products that are being recalled for safety reasons.

The October 18 grand opening of the first Costco in Napa, California coincided with a massive national recall of products ranging from chicken taquitos and survival protein buckets to inflatable hot tub pumps and baby night lights.

Currently recalled Costco food products include but are not limited to:

• El Monterey Chicken Taquitos (Item #18668)
• Rana Chicken Truffle Carbonara (Item #1844072)
• Rana Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken & Portobello Mushroom (Item #1102200)
• Red's Mini Chicken Burritos 20ct (Item #1850156)
• Readywise 110 Serving Emergency Protein Bucket (Item #1628923)

Non-perishables covered by the recent Costco recall include:

• Atomi Smart Tabletop Heater (Item #1613904)
• Atomi Smart Tower Heater (Item #1501184)
• Hatch Baby Rest Night Light and Sound Machine First Gen (Item #1278829)
• Kilimanjaro E-Bike Rack Hitch-Mounted Platform Carrier (Items #2705169 and #1666595)
• SaluSpa Laguna AirJet Inflatable Spa - Pump Only (Item # 1539528)
• Stanley Jr. Kids Wheelbarrow and 7-piece Garden Set (Item #1662178)

Some but not all of the recalls involve potentially contaminated meats that came through a BrucePac facility in Oklahoma, explains, Forbes magazine. In southeast and midwest markets, Costco is also recalling skirt steak, Kodiak Waffle mixes, and Samsung slide-in electric cooktop ranges.

In addition to Costco warehouse stores, the nationwide recall affects prepared meat and poultry products delivered to schools, restaurants, and grocers. The USDA maintains a searchable list of recalled products including foodstuffs suspected of listeria contamination that were sold at Costco, Trader Joe's, 7-11, and other stores in the San Francisco Bay Area.
