The Colorado Buffaloes are home to two of college football's biggest stars: quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter.

The duo are among the more popular players in college football, so it was no surprise they partnered with EA Sports to test-play and advertise the video game EA Sports College Football 25, which drops in the next couple of days.

They faced one another in an exhibition match streamed on Sunday. They chose to play as opposing Colorado teams, with Sanders' in-game Buffaloes taking a massive lead, 36-7, through three quarters.

Hunter tried his luck at quarterback with a virtual Sanders, but he ended up getting sacked on fourth-and-22. He then berated his in-game offensive line for allowing the sack.

"Yes, very realistic. They can't block for nothing," Hunter jokingly said, referring to his in-game team while seemingly taking a jab at his real-life teammates.

His quip caused an uproar on social media, with many fans calling him out for throwing his team under the bus.

Hunter himself later addressed the comments during the stream, saying , "I did it on purpose, bruh, I'm a troll."

Fans were still upset about the remark, with one writing , "Travis Hunter is doing a great job [as a] user controlling Shedeur Sanders, held onto the ball for 45 minutes, ran into a sack, and immediately cried about his line."

Sanders jumped to his top target's defense on X (formerly Twitter), expressing that Hunter was poking fun at last year's line that gave up over 50 sacks—a unit that their head coach and Shedeur's father, Deion Sanders, vowed to replace this offseason and did. The Buffs brought in around a dozen new linemen with the hope they could protect Sanders better and also help establish the run game.

Whether or not this will silence the critics is to be determined, but clearly, people are not thrilled with the future first-round pick.
