Dean Inniss Announces New Faculty Appointment
Lolita Buckner Inniss, Dean and Provost’s Professor of Law, is pleased to announce the appointment of another professor to Colorado Law’s full-time faculty: Cara Shaffer. “We could not be more thrilled to have Professor Shaffer join our law school community,” said Dean Inniss. “Professor Shaffer brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our legal writing faculty, and we look forward to welcoming her to campus in a few weeks.”

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Hundreds of homes were evacuated overnight after a new wildfire exploded just to the southwest of the Denver metro. The “Quarry Fire” was first spotted by a Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy late Tuesday night. As of Wednesday night, the fire was an estimated 341 acres.

COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado School of Mines is the preseason football favorite in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, with their annual coaches' poll announced Wednesday. Winner of five consecutive RMAC titles, Mines received seven of 10 first-place votes for 79 points overall to lead Western Colorado (74 points, 3 first) and CSU Pueblo (66 points) in the poll. The blog LawnStarter recently published a list of America's best cities for disc golf, and three Colorado cities made it into the top ten. To create the rankings, the company compared the 500 biggest U.S. cities based on 17 data points falling into five disc golf-related categories - access, quality, community, interest, and climate.
