Colorado voters will decide on an initiative to prohibit the hunting of mountain lions, bobcats, and lynxes in November
The Colorado Secretary of State announced on July 21 that an initiative to define and prohibit trophy hunting had qualified for the Nov. 5 ballot. The initiative would define trophy hunting as “intentionally killing, wounding, pursuing, or entrapping a mountain lion, bobcat, or lynx; or discharging or releasing any deadly weapon at a mountain lion, bobcat, or lynx.”

Injured hiker rescued from Rocky Mountain trail in southern Colorado
An injured hiker was rescued from a mountain trail in southern Colorado near Great Sand Dunes National Park on Friday, according to Alamosa search and rescue crews. Rescue crews responded Friday to reports of an injured hiker who had fallen while descending the mountain trail from Ellingwood Point — a high mountain summit in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains — according to Alamosa Volunteer Search and Rescue.

Mandatory Evacuations Issued For Dunraven Glade Area
Mandatory Evacuations ordered for the area of Dunraven Glade, along CR43, including Streamside Drive and Dunraven Glade Rd. The evacuation area extends north past Miller Fork Rd and Dunraven Trailhead. Residents in this area were previously under voluntary evacuations but are now upgraded to mandatory evacuation status and should EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY.

Cause of death revealed for man found dead after Greeley storm
GREELEY, Colo. — A man who was found dead after a May hailstorm in Greeley died of alcohol-related hypothermia, according to a report from the Weld County coroner. The coroner's report says 48-year-old Joseph Carrisales' cause of death was complications of hypothermia due to being intoxicated outside overnight after the storm. Chronic alcohol abuse was a significant contributing factor, the report said. His death was ruled an accident.
2 injuried after golf cart hit by F-150 at Pinehurst Country Club
A crash that involved a golf cart sent two people to the hospital on Wednesday. The call came in around 1 p.m. from the Pinehurst Country Club parking lot. The incident happened in the main parking lot at the country club. A Ford F-150 collided with a Pinehurst CC golf cart occupied by two riders. First responders put AirCare on standby initially, but determined it was not needed once they made it to the scene and evaluated the patients.
