Boulder County team wins state horse judging competition
Boulder County has a winning team in the unique art of horse judging, with local high schoolers taking home the top prize at the Colorado State 4-H Conference. The competition, held June 19 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, saw teams across the state face off in four horse judging categories. To win the competition, the top three scores from the Boulder County 4-H Senior Team had to rank above their rivals.
Contractor arrested after $1.3 million reportedly stolen from Marshall Fire homeowners
A contractor was arrested and accused of stealing more than $1 million from four families who had homes damaged or lost in the Marshall Fire. Leona Scott, 63, of Aurora, was arrested Thursday and is facing a charge of theft – more than $1 million, a Class 2 felony that could carry a prison sentence of eight to 24 years in prison.
