New Crop of State Qualifier Hopefuls for Perry
Perry wrestling has been putting in the work this offseason. Numerous members of last year’s squad have been attending camps and working out this summer. The Bluejays will return zero guys with State Tournament experience. That doesn’t stop Coach Dardanes from being hopeful. “The young guys are coming around and if you can get a handful of guys around you then it makes it that much easier when the wrestling season starts to come around because those guys are usually the best examples.” Dardanes also added he’s excited what some of the returners will do this winter. “Townes Wilson and he was like a match away for making it to State he’s been doing a bunch of camps he went to a Hawkeye Camp recently and then Ben Kusar he’s my cousin he’s been with me and just hanging out and training.” Last year the Bluejays had two guys qualify for the State Tournament, Keegan Snyder and Kane Killmer. They’re hopeful to send more this upcoming winter.
