Introducing the Newest Face in History: Mr. Good
One of the new members of our faculty is a familiar face to many students, as Mr. Kristopher Good joins the staff after many years of teaching eighth grade history at Huntington Middle School. This year, Mr. Good is teaching AP United States History, regular United States History, and one period of Oral Interpretation, or Speech and Debate. Something Mr. Good has experienced in his first week on campus that no other new teacher has over their first couple weeks on campus is interacting with students he taught back at the middle school. “Seeing all my old eighth graders as almost adults has been one of my favorite parts about the first week,” Mr. Good said.
Skyridge earns victory over top-ranked Colorado team
The energized Skyridge football team handed Colorado’s top-ranked team, the Cherry Creek Bruins, a 24-14 loss on Friday night (Aug. 30) at home. The Falcons built on the momentum of their win in Nevada and took an early lead in the first quarter with junior quarterback Kaneal Sweetwyne’s 9-yard run on an option play into the endzone. They never looked back as they claimed a victory in week three of non-region play.
New school year brings new principal
On August 7, Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) opened its doors to a new school year as well as a new principal, Dr. Robert Thelen. Robert has 17 years of experience – in special education, as a general education teacher (elementary and secondary grades), as a literacy instructional coach, as an assistant principal, and as a district level coordinator. Robert is a Colorado native born and raised in Littleton. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado Greeley and master’s degree in curriculum and instruction as well as a doctorate of education- Leadership for Education Equality Program from the University of Colorado Denver.
