A flood watch issued Tuesday morning for Columbus and several surrounding counties was canceled Tuesday night by the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Man rescued after tree standoff in Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton first responders were called to an unusual rescue situation Tuesday when a man climbed a tree and made suicidal threats. Police and fire crews responded to the scene where they found the individual high in a tree, exhibiting erratic behavior. After a nearly two-and-a-half-hour standoff, authorities were able to de-escalate the situation and persuade the man to climb down safely. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
