Farmers in Maryland eligible for drought assistance
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Farmers in parts of Maryland who are facing drought conditions due to a lack of rain over the past summer are eligible for federal assistance. The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the low-interest loans are available for farmers in Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett, Howard, Montgomery, and Washington counties.

Easton Utilities Begins Annual Flushing Program
The water main flushing program is conducted by Easton Utilities on an annual basis and scheduled to begin in late August throughout the service territory. “The flushing program allows us to determine if there are any issues in our water system infrastructure so Easton Utilities can continue delivering high quality water,” stated Jake Bryan, Water and Wastewater Supervisor for Easton Utilities.

Power Temporarily Suspended at Shopping Center and Church Following Electrical Fire
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) were dispatched to 8549 Piney Branch Rd in Silver Spring for a building fire on Saturday afternoon.
