Man alleges police brutality during arrest by Lakeland police
LAKELAND, Fla. — A man is accusing Lakeland police officers of using unnecessary force, stemming from an incident in February. 10 Tampa Bay has obtained the police body cam video of the confrontation, which started when a man named Marcus Adams says he stopped to smoke a cigarette on the Florida Southern College campus and was asked to leave.

An email received today from the Florida Highway Patrol Public Affairs Office offers an update on the fatal crash on SR 60 yesterday, July 16:. “Vehicle 1, a Chevy Silverado, was traveling westbound on SR-60 near the Lake Kissimmee South boat ramp. Vehicle 2, a Honda CRV, was traveling eastbound on SR-60. Vehicle 3, a Lexus ES, was traveling eastbound directly behind Vehicle 2. For unknown reason, Driver 1 failed to maintain control Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 crossed the centerline and collided nearly head on with Vehicle 2. Upon impact, Vehicle 2 rotated and again collided with Vehicle 1. Despite evasive maneuvers, Vehicle 3 then collided with Vehicle 2 before striking a guard rail, located along the outside shoulder of the roadway. A passenger traveling in Vehicle 2 suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash while the driver, transported to an area hospital, later expired from injuries suffered during the collision.
