The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green has opened a limited-time exhibit honoring the 2014 sinkhole that swallowed eight one-of-a-kind vehicles.

The exhibit, "Ground to Sky: The Sinkhole Reimagined," is open now through mid-September at the National Corvette Museum, 350 Corvette Dr. in Bowling Green.

The sinkhole, which opened in February 2014, did more than $1 million in damage to cars that fell on rocks. Since 1981, Bowling Green has been the only place that assembles Corvettes.

Here's what to know about the "Ground to Sky" exhibit.

What is the 'Ground to Sky: The Sinkhole Reimagined' exhibit at the National Corvette Museum?

The temporary exhibit will feature one-of-a-kind Corvettes recovered from the sinkhole and brought out of long-term storage, including the ZR-1 Spyder, the 1962 Corvette, and the 1.5 millionth Corvette, displayed alongside the 2009 ZR-1 Blue Devil and one-millionth Corvette. It also features firsthand accounts from museum staff about the discovery of the sinkhole, the recovery process, and the progress to today.
