BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A man has been arrested after deputies with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a grim scene on Sunday.

Court documents said authorities were dispatched around 10:50 a.m. on Sunday to the 900 block of Worldstown Road in Junction City in response to a call from a woman who said that her boyfriend had sent her messages that he had allegedly shot cats “and dumped them over a fence.”

When deputies arrived, authorities said dried bloodstains could be seen on the front porch of 60-year-old Jeffrey Hall’s home. As law enforcement questioned Hall, a dead kitten was found outside. Hall allegedly admitted to shooting the kitten “with a BB gun,” but denied shooting a second dead cat that was spotted in the tree line across from his home, per court documents.

Law enforcement said animal control crews were dispatched to the scene and found four cats still alive underneath the front porch of Hall’s home. Animal control teams said the dead black cat in the tree line “appeared to be the mother of the kittens,” per court documents.
