EPA awards $4.3 billion to fund projects in 30 states to reduce climate pollution
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Environmental Protection Agency is awarding $4.3 billion in grants to fund projects in 30 states to reduce climate pollution. The money will go to 25 projects targeting greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, electric power, commercial and residential buildings, industry, agriculture and waste and materials management. The grants are paid for by the 2022 climate law approved by congressional Democrats. Neighborhoods throughout Pleasant Hills are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 30th Annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. Residents are invited to join in the celebration with police, fire and medics by turning on their lights, locking their doors and coming outside to spend the evening with family members and neighbors. Residents are encouraged to host block parties, cookouts and youth activities. This is a great time for all age groups to get to know each other and build relationships. Emergency equipment from numerous public safety organizations will form a procession and travel throughout the borough, visiting neighborhoods. Groups or organizations from the area that wish to participate in the procession with their motorized units are invited to join public safety personnel in making this year’s event even bigger than those held in the past.
Pa. Gaming Control Board reports a jackpot for 2023-24 tax revenue
Harrisburg, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported that the tax revenue generated during the combined Fiscal Year 2023-24 has reached a record level of $2.54 billion. 2 vendors allegedly robbed at Picklesburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are investigating after two vendors working at Picklesburgh were apparently robbed.Officers say it happened around 7 p.m. Sunday on the Boulevard of the Allies. They say one vendor's backpack with cash from her sales was taken from her unlocked car. PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- After a gorgeous weekend, clouds will roll in overnight, bringing a bit more humidity on Monday with increasing rain chances ahead of a warm front that will lift through the area. A few scattered showers will be possible by mid-morning into lunch, with a few scattered thunderstorms popping up through Monday afternoon. Tuesday will bring a few scattered showers at times, but Wednesday, and especially Thursday, will have better rain chances as a cold front approaches late in the week.
