The historic Opera House in downtown Sarasota continues its annual summer movie series with a screening of "Meet Me in St. Louis," a Christmas musical classic from 1944 starring Judy Garland. 3. Summer Circus Spectacular at The Ringling in Sarasota
Summer Circus Spectacular, the annual collaboration between the Circus Arts Conservatory and The Ringling, brings family-friendly entertainment to the lavish, intimate and air-conditioned Historic Asolo Theater. The production features world-class circus artists including contortionist Uranbileg Angarag, the Bello Sisters acrobatic hand balancing, and hair hang act by Camille Langlois. Also, keep in mind after attending Summer Circus Spectacular, you can enjoy access to the Circus Museum on the same day for just $5. 4. Laser Light Nights at The Bishop Museum in Bradenton
The Bishop Planetarium continues its popular series of laser light shows set to music by rock and pop acts from today, June 27, through Saturday. The lineup is Journey (7 p.m. today), Foo Fighters (9 p.m. today), Nirvana (7 p.m. Friday), Beastie Boys (9 p.m. Friday), The Rolling Stones (7 p.m. Saturday), and Rush (9 p.m. Saturday). The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, located at 201 10th St. W. in downtown Bradenton, offers beer and wine during Laser Light Nights, with tickets priced at $15 per show.
