Pa. company laying off 70 people
The Radian Group, a mortgage insurance company, is laying off approximately 70 people in Chester County. Radian Group Inc. filed a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry informing that state it is laying off the employees at 550 East Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township near Wayne.
Penn College sees unexpected increase in state budget
Williamsport, Pa. — On July 11, Gov. Josh Shapiro approved the 2024-25 Pennsylvania budget, which includes a $4 million increase in state appropriations for Penn College — a 13% increase compared to last year. In the College's 2024-25 budget, approved by the Board of Directors on June 27, the Board only anticipated a 5% increase. Allegheny County District Attorney's Office experiences limited communication due to cyberattack
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A cyberattack has impacted communications for the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office as of this morning. According to their website, their computer servers are shut down at this time. They also added that they have limited access to email and their desk phones are up and running, but they do not have voicemail capabilities. Anyone who has to contact the office can do so by calling one of two numbers: 412-915-6914 or 412-879-7548. Volaura 'Val' Askew, 28 of Johnstown, "exposed her 5-year-old daughter to fentanyl/heroin in the hours and days before the child was found dead in her Johnstown home on October 27, 2022," the Attorney General explained when Daily Voice first reported her charges in July 2023.
