Bradford County, Pa. — Police are using drones and search parties to find an inmate who disappeared from a local hospital after he was inexplicably left unattended by law enforcement.

Ryan Charles Kithcart Sr., 30, was being booked into the Bradford Correctional Facility when a pre-booking scan revealed an unknown object in his abdomen on June 25. He was transported by ambulance to Towanda Memorial Hospital, but for "reasons which are unclear and remain under investigation" Kithcart was sent to the hospital without a police or prison escort, according to an affidavit.

Once at the hospital, Kithcart was evaluated and eventually released at around 6:00 a.m. Kithcart has not been seen since and now the district attorney's office is warning residents of Bradford County that he remains at large.

"Please do not make contact with this individual because he may be a danger to himself or others. If anyone has information about Kithcart's whereabouts, contact Sayre Borough PD at 570-888-2233 or call 911," the Bradford County District Attorney said in a release.

Kithcart, who police say is homeless, was being booked for charges of terroristic threats, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He is now facing additional charges of escape and fleeing apprehension.
