Single vehicle crash claims life of ATV rider
Warren Township, Pa. — A 30-year-old man lost his life July 6 after his 2010 Yamaha Raptor crashed on a country road near Windham, Pa. According to PSP Towanda, Nicholas Byrne of Rome, Pa. sustained a fatal injury when his ATV failed to negotiate a left curve in the road and struck a tree on Hickeys Rocks Road, just north of Greek Road in Bradford County. The crash occurred around 10:17 p.m. Byrne struck the tree, was thrown from his ATV, and landed in a culvert ditch, police said. He sustained a fatal head injury and died at the scene. According to the police report, Byrne was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the crash. Assisting on scene were H.O.P.S. EMS, Warren Township Fire Department, Bradford County Coroner, and Suttons Towing.
