    Braham sports teams, athletes make a splash this spring

    Braham saw a number of its teams and individuals experience successful seasons this spring.

    The Bombers baseball team shared the Great River Conference title with Rush City, as both squads boasted identical 10-2 marks in league action.

    Earning All-Great River Conference honors were Jake Tepley, Logan Leniz, Brennan Lee, Dulton Bengtson and Eli Belden, while Ben White was named to the honorable mention squad.

    Braham saw two individuals honored as Jake Tepley voted the Great River Conference’s MVP, while coach Aitor Leniz was named Coach of the Year.

    The Bombers softball team also tied with Rush City for the top spot in the GRC with identical 10-2 records, but the Tigers won the title outright by sweeping the regular-season series with Braham, which also played in the Section 4A title game.

    Arin Zimpel, Nickole Duvernay, Alex Rysdam and Morgan Rysdam all were named to the all-conference team, while Lauren Leniz was an honorable mention selection.

    The Braham boys and girls track teams had two individual champions at the Great River Conference meet, as Skyler Belsheim won the high jump and Brycen Lotz took first place in the discus.

    The Bombers had eight athletes advance to the Section 5A meet held at St. John’s University. On the girls side, Emily Davis advanced in the pole vault, Emily Blomdahl earned a berth in the 100 hurdles, Ava Johnson claimed a spot in the 800, and Zoey Claseman advanced in the long jump.

    On the boys side, Belsheim again won the high jump at the subsection meet, while Tanner Doble advanced in both the 400 and pole vault. Lotz advanced in the discus, while Memphys Campbell moved on in the 300 hurdles.

    The girls golf team repeated as Great River Conference Champions and just missed out on advancing to the Class A state meet, finishing as runners up in Section 4A.

    The girls had four players – Madison Davis, Jenna Burmaster, Delaney Johnson and Elizabeth Fix – earn all-conference honors.

    Davis won the conference and Section 4A titles and finished sixth at state, while Burmaster also earned a spot in the state meet.

    The girls also were the Section 4A Academic Champions.

    On the boys golf side, Ethan Schroeder earned all-conference honors.
