Morial Convention Center Saturday for the COMMUNITY AND FAMILY DAY EXPO that will provide a day of fun, information and school supplies from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information on topics including nutrition, fashion, beauty and building wealth will be part of the day, as well as performances by the Beyjorettes, Outrage and Jiggaerobics, plus legal advice, a Black-owned marketplace, college information and investing. Louisiana state rep. arrested on DWI charge in Ascension Parish, state police say
GONZALES, La. — Louisiana State Representative Kendricks "Ken" Brass, D-Vacherie, was arrested on Friday for drunk driving, according to the Louisiana State Police. The incident happened shortly after midnight when a state trooper saw a "2018 GMC Yukon swerving in and out of the travel lane while traveling on LA 44 near Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish", the release said.

Baton Rouge, LA – Bally’s Corporation has announced a definitive merger agreement with Standard General L.P., its largest stockholder, to acquire the company’s outstanding shares for $18.25 per share.
