CAPE FAIR, Mo. – The Cape Fair Marina, just west of Branson, is still partially underwater.

After Wednesday night’s storm, an entire dock was flipped upside down and several boats were damaged.

“Never seen anything like this,” said Kevin Smith, whose family visits every year from Colorado.

All of the walkways to get to the docks at the Cape Fair Marina are either damaged or underwater.

“I was amazed at how far the docks have been moved and things are turned,” said Dolly Johnson, an Aurora retired teacher.

The marina isn’t sure exactly how many boats are underwater but they estimate about 20 boats are damaged, and all of them are privately owned.

“The walkway has been turned totally upside down,” Johnson said.

Johnson has had a boat in the Cape Fair Marina for 11 years. She says she’s going to get a canoe and try to see the damage done to her boat.

“I want to make sure my little ship is safe and I’m very glad that nobody was injured,” Johnson said.

OzarksFirst crews spoke to the Smith family, who had two boats at the marina, both were not damaged at all.

“We’re actually going to take this boat and put it in over at the other ramp and the kids are on their way here now,” Smith said. “So it’s not going to mess up their vacation.”

The marina is hopeful they will be back up and running in a few days.
