Driver, passenger hurt after suspect shoots at 2 vehicles in Brazoria County, throws brick through Lyft driver’s window
BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – An investigation is underway into a bizarre series of events which took place late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in Brazoria County. The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office says it all started just after midnight after a suspect was dropped off by a Lyft driver in Rosharon. The suspect threw a brick at the driver’s car before stealing a vehicle and following another driver.

Clemens Unit in Angleton reports 3rd escape within 8 months after inmate 'walked' away from prison
This weekend, a Bexar County man became the third inmate to escape from the Clemens Unit, a prison in Brazoria County, in about eight months.According to TDCJ Director of Communications Amanda Hernandez, 33-year-old Kidanny Robles was last seen at the Clemens Unit Trusty Camp at about 10 p.m. Saturday before his escape. Robles was discovered missing during a routine headcount around midnight.Robles was apprehended at about 10 a.m. on Sunday inside an empty guest home on Jamison Drive near County Road 290, fewer than five miles from the camp. ANGLETON, Texas – The hunt for an escaped inmate who took off sometime around midnight Sunday in Brazoria County has concluded, authorities confirmed. Details are limited, but the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) says Kidanny Robles, 33, was discovered missing around midnight at the Clemens Unit trusty camp in Angleton.
Texas police rescue family from barricaded subject near Houston
MANVEL, Texas — Early Thursday morning, police rescued a family from a barricaded subject wielding a knife in their home.On June 20, 2024, at approximately 4:12 a.m., officers from the Manvel Police Department and the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department responded to a residence on Laguna Bend in the Rodeo Palms Subdivision regarding an individual threatening family members with a knife. Upon arrival, officers found the subject had barricaded himself inside the residence with the knife and the family members.After failed attempts to get the individual to come out, officers made a forced entry into the residence. They successfully rescued the family members and eventually took the individual into custody. The individual is being taken to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department, where he will be charged with Unlawful Restraint and Resisting Arrest, according to the press release.
