In yet another run-in with law enforcement, former Bachelorette contestant James McCoy Taylor was arrested on Sunday in Texas on charges including assault, according to Page Six .
The 38-year-old country singer was put in handcuffs and taken into custody at a bar in Brazos County, Texas, and was consequently booked on two separate charges stemming from an April incident: unlawful restraint and assault causing bodily injury. Taylor was released later on Sunday on $8,000 surety bond.
The reality star made headlines in 2021 when The Bachelorette 's creator, Mike Fleiss , exiled Taylor from Bachelor Nation after he attended the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

As People reported, he was also arrested in 2022 for driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon. After being confronted by a police officer for urinating in a parking garage, he was told not to drive his truck but ignored the directive. According to the police report, Taylor was with an 18-year-old "college freshman companion" at the time and said he was going to drive her back to her dorm room. The report stated that the woman "was not in any kind of condition to appraise the benefits and risks of the situation she was in." Taylor was released the same day on a $7,000 bond.
Taylor is known to viewers of The Bachelorette for appearing in the 2016 season of the series with JoJo Fletcher , where he was eliminated during the seventh week of the competition.
