The Giants signed Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract extension prior to the 2023 NFL season, with $92 million in guarantees. But after a brutal, injury-riddled '23 season and an awful performance in week one of the 2024 season, Giants fans are calling for Jones' head.

At the time of the extension, Jones was coming off of a career year. He set new personal bests in 2022 in completion percentage (67.2%), passing yards (3205), and rushing yards (708), while throwing for 15 touchdowns and rushing for seven more. He also threw a career-low five interceptions.

But Jones played just six games in 2023, first missing time with a neck injury and then tearing his ACL in his first game back. In the games he managed to play, he threw just two touchdown passes against six interceptions (including two pick-sixes).

And in his first game of 2024, "Danny Dimes" completed just 22 passes in 42 attempts, for 183 yards and no TDs. He also added two more interceptions, including another pick-six, in the Giants' 28-6 loss to the Vikings.

For those counting, that's two touchdowns and three pick-sixes for Jones since he inked his big deal.

    Giants fans are not pleased.

After Sunday's game, they stuck around to heckle Jones on his way out of MetLife Stadium:

Another group of fans was spotted attempting to burn Jones jerseys (love the halfhearted "yay" at the end of this clip):

New York fans' frustration is hilarious, but also understandable. Even in better times, Jones never lived up to the expectations that come with getting drafted sixth overall (in 2019).

Check out some of these reactions:

If Danny Jones watches any of this, he's unlikely to be surprised. The majority of Giants fans never wanted to draft him in the first place.

Here's a compilation of reactions to the Giants selecting Jones five years ago:

During a press conference on Monday, Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed that Jones will be his team's starting quarterback in week two.
