Breaux Bridge man dead after vehicle ran off road into pond

ARNAUDVILLE, La. ( KLFY ) – A Breaux Bridge man was found dead in a pond after his vehicle ran off the road.

According to Louisiana State Police , Troop I was called to investigate a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning just after 7 a.m. on Louisiana Hwy. 93 south of Grand Lake Drive in St. Landry Parish.

An investigation showed the driver of a 2006 Chrysler 300 was heading north on Hwy. 93. For unknown reasons, the Chrysler ran off the road to the right, into a large private pond, where it became fully submerged.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office dive team was called out to assist the LSP. Divers found the vehicle and noticed that there was no one inside. The Search and Rescue team then located the body of the driver after 15 minutes of searching.

The driver, Joseph Noel, 72 of Breaux Bridge, was pronounced dead at the scene. Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
