Grade the trade: Hawks proposal lands $18 million award-winning All-Star
The Atlanta Hawks have plenty of reasons to be competitive in 2024-25 rather than leaning into a rebuild (or the less abrasive sounding “retool”) with younger players. They owe their first-round picks in 2025, 2026 (swap option), and 2027 to the San Antonio Spurs. That takes tanking out of the equation. The Hawks also still roster three-time All-Star Trae Young, who has made no secret about his desire to win and do so in Atlanta.
