High School Freshman Killed After Dirt Bike Crashes into Trailer
Middlebury, IN – A 14-year-old high school freshman was killed in a crash after he hit another vehicle while operating a dirt bike. The collision happened Saturday afternoon when the teen was traveling southbound on County Road 35 north of State Road 120. According to eyewitnesses, as reported by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the other vehicle was traveling westbound on SR 120 east of CR 35 when the teen failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the back of the trailer the other vehicle was pulling.

On the afternoon of Sunday, July 28, La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership’s (LEAP) La Porte Young Professionals (LPYP) group hosted its annual cornhole tournament. The event took place at the Beach House on the shores of La Porte’s Stone Lake. LPYP is an organization that gives young professionals from a variety of fields the opportunity to network with one another. This is the third year that the cornhole tournament has been featured as a LakeFest event. LakeFest, which is in its fourth year, is a weekend-long festival that features a wide variety of fun and exciting events like live music concerts, Nerf gun battles, car shows, and Aquacross Jet Ski races.
