Vehicle inspection fees to increase in July
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Beginning on July 15, a new mandate increasing the cost of vehicle inspections will go into effect in Kentucky. Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower said that while the inspections only take around 15-20 minutes to complete, depending on parking in Downtown Bowling Green, that time can add up.

Hanson Nature Center Grand Opening, July 13
The Winnebago County Conservation Board and the Friends of Winnebago County Conservation have scheduled a Grand Opening for the new Hanson Nature Center. It will be held Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Center, located at 41600 Hwy. 69, Leland. U.S. 41 ramp to Parkway in Mannington to close Monday
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the U.S. 41 ramp to northbound Pennyrile Parkway at Mannington beginning Monday. Metro Councilmembers give away portable AC units to families in need
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Several Metro Councilmembers came together to give out portable AC units to low-income residents who are living without air conditioning. District 21 Metro Councilwoman Betsy Ruhe started the project after the death of 17-year-old Christian Ruhekenya last summer. Christian died from carbon monoxide poisoning after going to sleep in a car when his family’s air conditioning went out.
Hopkinsville man named associate pastor at historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta
A Hopkinsville man has been named an associate pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta where civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. preached. The Rev. Donavan Pinner, who recently graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with the Master of Divinity, will serve as the associate pastor for children and youth at Ebenezer. Pinner studied philosophy and religion at Morehouse College in Atlanta before enrolling at Princeton.
