Edgecomb Community Church Plans Special 250th Birthday Service, Ice Cream Social
The Edgecomb Community Church will offer a special Sunday worship service on July 14 to commemorate Edgecomb’s 250th birthday. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. with the introduction of the church’s newly hired pastor Aram Mitchell, who will officiate. The service will include a reading of the original petition signed by 55 inhabitants of a plantation located in Lincoln County calling for town incorporation.
Celebrating Summer at Lincoln Home
We welcome the community to join us on the lawn at The Lincoln Home for a fun celebration of the 4th of July from 4:30 - 8:30pm, with premium fireworks viewing at dusk. Dance on the lawn to the fun music of The Boneheads and enjoy delicious barbecue burgers, sausages, hotdogs and veggie burgers that will be available for purchase, along with home made strawberry shortcake and ice cream. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available from Sadie the Bar Car. Kids will have fun dancing on the lawn with light up bracelets and necklaces. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for the best view of the fireworks overlooking the Damariscotta River. No coolers or pets are allowed. Admission is $5 per person or $15 for a family of 4. Premium parking available for $10. The Lincoln Home, a non-profit assisted living community that supports a vibrant lifestyle for seniors, and our Lincoln County community. All proceeds benefit the Lincoln Home Resident Assistance fund. The Lincoln Home is located at 22 River Road, Newcastle.
Ocean Point Column: Activities have begun
Abby and Tim Mahoney have arrived and are busy preparing for what will be a very busy season of activities! Despite the fact that activities didn’t officially begin until Monday, July 1 Abby, Tim and their assistant Kate Lindley were kind enough to hold some of the kids weekly activities this past week, thank you. Prior to the Mahoneys’ arrival Kate was busy preparing the Casino for opening, thank you to her as well.
