Floyd, Bremer, Fayette Counties to Share in $25 Million for Bridge Updates
A coalition of Floyd, Fayette, and Bremer counties, plus the City of Dubuque, will each share in $50 million in federal transportation funding.Â. The Department of Transportation's (DOT) RAISE grants will enhance safety in urban neighborhoods and replace some 29 bridges across Northeast Iowa. The program was funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act"¯(IIJA) supported by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley in 2021.Â
Waverly impacted by flooding, Wartburg College offers shelter
WAVERLY, Iowa (KCRG) - Officials in Waverly are asking people to let utility workers do their part as flooding is impacting the area. Bremer County Emergency Management shared images of 7th Ave Southeast, 4th Street Southeast both of which are closed. It also closed a section of Crestwood Ave between 4th St SE and 8th ST southeast.

WATERLOO — River levels continue to rise in the Cedar Valley, pushing rivers into flood stage, according to the National Weather Service. As of Monday morning, the National Weather Service had a flood warning in effect for the Cedar River at Waterloo, Janesville, and the Shell Rock River at Shell Rock for Black Hawk, Butler and Bremer Counties.
