APA waives adoption fees for dogs amid overcrowding

ST. LOUIS – The Animal Protective Association of Missouri experienced an influx of new pets in need of homes over the weekend. The shelter announced Monday that with over 650 pets between their two locations, overcrowding has become an issue.

In order to create space for more homeless pets, the APA says they are waiving adoption fees for all dogs over 30 pounds until next Monday, July 22.

The shelter offers a “foster to adopt” option that gives potential adopters the opportunity to ensure that the pet will be a good fit for their home.

When adopting from the APA, the shelter says all pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.

Pets will also receive a collar, a pet ID tag, a starter bag of food, 30 days of free pet insurance and one week of dog training.
