Mercy announces grants for St. Louis community programs

Kansas couple caught in van reported stolen from Missouri
SHAWNEE COUNTY –Law enforcement are investigating two suspect on multiple allegations after an arrest. Just before 11:30p.m. August 21, a sheriff's deputy located a red 1999 Plymouth Voyager that was reported stolen out of Missouri in the 1900 block of NW Topeka Boulevard, according to Shawnee County Deputy Abigail Christian.
Driver seriously injured when minivan goes airborne, hits I-70 overpass bridge
SALINE CO., Mo. (KCTV) - The driver of a minivan was seriously injured when it went airborne along I-70 in Missouri over the weekend and hit an overpass bridge. The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, emergency crews were called to an area of westbound I-70 about a mile east of Marshall Junction with reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Cardinals to place standout catcher on injured list with finger fracture
Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras has suffered a finger fracture and is headed for the injured list, according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Per Goold, catcher Ivan Herrera is expected to replace Contreras on the active roster Sunday. Contreras suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch during the club’s loss to the Twins Saturday evening and a specific timetable for his return is not yet available. Per Goold, Contreras is set to undergo scanning on the injured finger on Monday that could help determine the length of his absence.

St. Louis woman arrested for theft in Jefferson City followed by police chase that spanned almost 90 miles
One of two people wanted for a theft out of Jefferson City is captured following a police chase that travels into the St. Louis area. The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reports it was contacted Friday afternoon by the JCPD for assistance locating a black Mercedes SUV that was involved in a theft from a Jefferson City business. About 30 minutes later, deputies received information that the vehicle was traveling on Highway 63 into Boone County.
