The Why: With Fabiola Sears State Farm

Last week I had the opportunity to sit down with Fabiola (Fab) Sears and her team at State Farm Insurancelocated off of Main Street in Frisco to chat with them for our ‘Why’ Series. And let me just tell you right off the bat that this is not your typical old dusty boring insurance group! From the moment you walk in you’re greeted by many smiling faces happy to help you with any questions you might have – after all – insurance can be a very personal & confusing topic. 

Fab joined the State Farm Family in 2014 and opened her office here in Frisco in 2019. When asked about ‘Why Frisco?” she stated, “When choosing where to put my roots down, Frisco was an easy move! It gave me the big city amenities with the small-town feel.” 
That small-town feel is something that I’ve always found very unique to Frisco that truly makes it more of a community than a city. We care for one another, support each other, and want to see everyone be successful as that’s what makes Frisco shine so bright. 
That sense of community runs deep in Fab’s veins as she has a passion for giving back. Not only was she the FIRST to jump on the cause to help us raise funds for our local first responders but she’s also heavily involved in a program called Quotes for Good. “Through this program, we partner with a number of different organizations — including Frisco Family Services and Habitat for Humanity – and give back per every quote we complete […] My team loves to partner up and rally for a good cause!” – Fab Sears. 
This quote really stuck out to me as you can tell very quickly if someone is in the right headspace when giving back to the community and this team seems to always give out of generosity to make sure everybody is well taken care of. 
While the Frisco community is very close to Fab’s heart, she also strives to make an impact on the Latino community by serving as a Program Coordinator for a faith-based nonprofit organization, Destino, for Latino college students. Destino is an organization that helps Latino college students on their journey through college and as they enter the workforce. Being bilingual and bicultural she hopes that she can serve as a role model for young adolescents to be able to achieve whatever they put their minds to. 
This level of achievement didn’t happen overnight as Fab first found State Farm as a way to pay bills right out of college in 2014. “It was my first out of college experience and wow, did it leave an everlasting impact. As a new team member, I would have conversations with my clients, and I quickly realized those conversations are potentially life-changing.” – Fab Sears
These life-changing conversations led Fab to make it a point to always take the time to make sure every client knows exactly what coverage options they have. “State Farms’ mission is to help people manage the risk of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams. One of the questions that I’m sure is burning in your mind is why State Farm vs other insurance companies? I seem to always ask the tough questions because I know the Frisco Fam wants to know! Every time you have a tough question it has to be followed up by a fun one! My favorite question to ask small businesses is ‘what do you love most about your job?’ And as expected Fab gave a very endearing answer! “I can’t pick just one thing I love about my job. As a State Farm agent, I work with people across Texas, including Frisco, Plano, Denton, Carrollton and the greater Dallas metropolitan area, helping them protect what matters and finding the right coverage for every stage of their lives. I have a great team, and I am honored to come to work every day and work with a like-minded team that is dedicated to helping Frisco residents. As a small business, we know how important it is to protect what our neighbors have worked so hard for – I really enjoy that every day I have conversations that really matter! Through those conversations, I am able to build deeper relationships and have a great impact on my community.
