ALPINE, Texas — David Matthew Neet, an Alpine volunteer firefighter and EMS crew member, was arrested Friday on suspicion of setting multiple brush fires in the area.Neet, of Odessa, was taken into custody by the Brewster County Sheriff's Office following a lengthy investigation. Authorities suspect Neet of starting several grass fires, and during the investigation, several incendiary devices were found. An arrest warrant was issued, charging Neet with arson, a second-degree felony.Sheriff Dodson commended Deputy Hector Holguin for his dedication to the investigation and thanked the Texas A&M Forest Service Investigators for their assistance. The case remains under investigation, according to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office.
