Properly disposing unused fireworks and debris in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Fourth of July celebrations are taking place across Lincoln, with people popping fireworks on Wednesday and Thursday. Keep Lincoln and Lancaster County Beautiful (KLLCB) and Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) have partnered up to remind people how to properly and safely dispose of unused fireworks and fireworks debris following Independence Day celebrations.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After an incredible amount of rain earlier this week, the year of 2024 has now reached an official 22.59″ of precipitation in Omaha, as of June 3rd. This is more than the entire year of 2022 (22.55″) and closing in on the total for 2023 (24.98″). In fact, on Tuesday, July 2nd the area totaled 2.08″, breaking the daily precipitation record of 1.28″ set back in 1958.

In a tragic incident on July 1, a neighborhood in Nebraska experienced a brutal shooting that left four children and three adults wounded. The events unfolded when a man, identified as Billy Booth, opened fire on a gathering near Parklane Street and Crestline Drive. Kimball PD welcoming second K9
KIMBALL -- The City Council unanimously approved the purchase of a second K9 for the Kimball Police Department. Trudy is a one-year-old Belgian Malinois who is being trained as a dual-purpose K9 who can detect narcotics and apprehend a suspect. Trudy is currently training with Kimball's other K9 dog, Lucy.
