'The Fire Inside' traces Flint boxer Claressa Shields' rise to in-ring glory
Ahead of her title fight at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, Flint's Claressa Shields is also getting ready for her big screen debut. "The Fire Inside," Shields' biopic about overcoming odds and becoming a two-time Olympic gold medal winning fighter, is due out later this year. Barb Smith Suicide Resource & Response Network to hold 22nd annual Walk for Hope
The Barb Smith Suicide Resource & Response Network will hold its 22nd annual Walk for Hope on Sunday, Aug. 4 at Saginaw Valley State University. Each year, the mental health and suicide awareness 5K Walk/Run raises funds and awareness to provide training and resources for mental health and suicide prevention. The Response Network anticipates about 2,000 people attending the event, therefore early registration is encouraged.
