Man, 19, charged with arson, home invasion
A Midland man remains jailed, charged with arson and home invasion in connection with an early Saturday morning incident in Hope Township. Michael Painter, 19, of Midland, is charged with misdemeanor arson and felony home invasion. He is lodged in the Midland County Jail on a $10,000 cash/surety bond. He was arraigned on the charges Monday before Midland County District Court Magistrate Gerald Ladwig.

Woman killed in Flint shooting
FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – A woman is dead after a shooting in Flint on Sunday. It happened about 2 p.m. in the 2000 block of S. Dort Highway on Sunday, July 21. Upon arriving at the scene, Flint police officers found a woman with a deadly gunshot wound and another victim with non-life-threatening injuries, Flint Police Det. Tyrone Booth said. The other victim was taken to an area hospital.
