KNOX CO. – The Indiana Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting on State Road 441 regarding a paving and road diet project. A road diet, also known as roadway reconfiguration, is a low-cost project that reallocates space on a roadway to improve safety and mobility for all road uses. It often involves reducing the number of vehicle travel lanes, such as converting a four-lane highway to three lanes. The additional space can be used for other purposes, such as bike lanes, transit stops, and on-street parking.

In the Chicago area alone last week, there were 33 tornadoes, compared to their usual 5 or 6 per year. With the derecho that moved through last week, 5 tornadoes rolled through the QCA.
