KILGORE, Texas — A program to help kids going through moments of crisis in Louisiana is moving into East Texas. In 2013, KC Kilpatrick started Geaux 4 Kids as an independent, grassroots effort after becoming a foster parent. She learned how stressful the initial 24 to 48 hours of receiving children into foster care were and how impossible it was to adequately prepare. The organization makes bags with items ready to go when law enforcement officials come upon a child in need.

It’s very rare for you to see a head coach publicly bash his players, but that wasn’t the case for Allen. He’s said things like, “I know he’s talented, but I don’t know if he can learn the system. I don’t know if can pick up the system because I haven’t seen him out there.”
Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected for North Texas
NORTH TEXAS — We maintain a weather alert through Labor Day weekend for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Widespread severe weather is not expected; however, a few thunderstorms could be on the stronger side, with brief heavy rain, CG lightning, and gusty winds to ~40-50mph. The cold front is going to stall somewhere in the North Texas/Southwest Oklahoma region, according to some major models. When this happens, it'll provide an additional focus point for showers and thunderstorms. At this moment, there's still some uncertainty as to where...
