AAA: Bridgeport has among cheapest gas in West Virginia this week

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — AAA has released its weekly average gas prices, and it said prices have “tumbled” in West Virginia.

According to the update released Monday, the price has dropped about eight cents since last week in northern West Virginia and is sitting at $3.346, about 25 cents from the same week last year. The statewide average is about a cent higher at $3.359 for the week of Aug. 7.

If you’re looking for the city with the cheapest average gas prices, AAA said that for this week, Bridgeport might be your best bet in the area with an average price of $3.282 per gallon.

Nationwide, West Virginia sits lower than the national average of $3.462. All fuel types included in AAA’s report, including diesel, have decreased in price over the last week and are 20-40 cents cheaper per gallon than they were at this time last year.
