Alton Post 126 teams with tournament action over the weekend
-0- Alton Post 126 won the District 22 Senior Legion tournament title yesterday (SUN). Alton and Highland Post 439 split a pair of games at the legion tourney Sunday and now both teams advance to the 5th Division tournament later this week. Alton (15-17) will be hosting that 5th Division tourney at the Bethalto Sports Complex.

Redington Plumbing Company was founded by the grandfather of the current owners in 1929 when Kirkwood was still developing as a suburb. J.E. Redington Sr. then passed the torch to his son Jack Redington Jr. who moved it to 639 Leffingwell in 1969. Jack’s sons, Rick and Jeff, took over the reins in the late 1990s.
Nursing And Health Care Camp
For nearly two dozen area high school students, summer camp looks like the inside of a helicopter rather than sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows. That’s because these 20 students are enrolled in Webster University’s inaugural “Explorations in Nursing and Health Care” summer camp, a five-day program for students in high school who are interested in pursuing careers in nursing.

The July 2024 Webster Groves Women’s Garden Association Garden of the Month award goes to Heather and Jacob Budde of 24 Denver Place. Outstanding characteristics of their garden include a mix of Limelight Hydrangeas, Crepe Myrtles, Hinoki Fernsprays, hostas, Major Wheeler honeysuckle and a raised backyard pond teaming with koi fish, water lilies, water hyacinth, tadpoles and frogs. Their 4-year-old son also has his own miniature gnome garden.
