Officer involved firearm discharge incident under investigation in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating an officer-involved firearm discharge. At around 2:20 p.m. Monday, officers were trying to contact a subject, identified as 22-year-old Millard Richardson, inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Sleep Inn Hotel. Officers were reportedly trying to arrest Richardson as the result of a firearm and gang investigation and had information that he currently had a firearm, which he is reportedly prohibited from possessing.
June home market sees higher sale prices despite increase in listings
According to the Delaware Association of Realtors, the housing market in Delaware saw an increase in listings and a modest decline in sales in June. New listings rose by 5% while units sold declined by 5%.

Dover Air Force Base unveils new electric vehicle chargers, remains largely dependent on fuel
Dover Air Force Base is the first of three Air Force bases to have electric vehicle chargers constructed on-base. They have roughly 36 chargers with more on the way. The ratio of gas-to-electric vehicles on base is still relatively small, according to Assistant Secretary for Installations and Energy Ravi Chaudhary. Out of more than 200 government vehicles, 4 are electric.

Jack Morey, the co-owner of Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, died last week at the age of 63, the company announced. “It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jack Morey, our beloved 2nd Generation Partner, and for the past three decades, the creative force behind Morey’s Piers. Tornado warnings expire for Rehoboth and Dewey beaches in Delaware
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for areas of Delaware Monday night that has since expired. The tornado warning was issued for Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and Henlopen Acres from about 7:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. No word yet if any actual twisters formed.

NJ man admits to decapitating seagull after it attempted to take fries from daughter: Affidavit
A South Jersey man is facing charges after authorities say he decapitated a seagull.Officers responded on July 6 to a report of animal cruelty at Morey's Piers located at 2501 Boardwalk Avenue.According to court documents obtained by Action News, Franklin Zeigler, 29, of Cape May, admitted to killing the seagull after it attempted to take french fries from his daughter.He then reportedly asked Morey's Piers staff for a trash bag while holding the dead seagull.Zeigler allegedly became irate and uncooperative with officers on an unrelated investigation, which led to his arrest on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.On July 18, he was charged with third-degree animal cruelty after officers obtained witness statements and photos, investigators said.He was released on a summons pending a future court date.If you have any information related to this case or any other criminal activities, please contact the North Wildwood Police Department Detective Division at (609) 522-2411.
