The Cambridge City Council conducted interviews on July 15 for the vacant city manager position. Accidental fire damages Cordova mobile home
CORDOVA — A mobile home in Cordova sustained significant damage in a fire Tuesday afternoon. The Office of the State Fire Marshal determined the blaze to be accidental. A release by the fire marshal indicates the fire took place just after 4 p.m. Tuesday on Shockley Lane. A homeowner noticed the fire, and it took firefighters about 45 minutes to control the blaze. The fire marshal’s office ruled the fire accidental due to a “mechanical and electrical failure in the water pump.” No injuries were reported. The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the home, according to the fire marshal’s office.
Cape Henlopen School District Mourns Loss of Two Students in Vehicle Crash
The Cape Henlopen School District is mourning the loss of the sudden death of two of their students following a vehicle crash that occurred on Gills Neck Road in Lewes on the night of July 15th. According to Delaware State Police, the driver of a BMW had apparently been speeding before exiting the road at a curve. The car struck a wall, tree and metal fence and caught fire. The fire spread to a home causing extensive damage, but no one in the home was injured. The driver of the BMW and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Annapolis Police Department said jugging is a form of theft that includes robbery, typically when a suspect follows a victim from a financial institution such as a bank, ATM, or check cashing service.
