Rehoboth author and former teacher Aimee Isaac has penned a children’s picture book that encourages environmental stewardship at a young age. Cast for a Cure reels in $9,000 for cancer patients at Beebe
Once again this year, the Cast for a Cure Surf Fishing Tournament has generated funds that will ultimately benefit patients undergoing cancer treatment at Beebe Healthcare. Tournament organizer Clark Evans recently presented a check in the amount of $9,000 to Beebe Medical Foundation to support the hospital’s Cancer Patient Special Needs Fund. The fund supports local cancer patients with limited financial means, and aims to offset some of the costs associated with their living expenses.

Two arrested in Milford following traffic stop
MILFORD, Del. – Two people were arrested early Sunday morning following a traffic stop for speeding. An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle at around 2:30 a.m., in the area of SE Front Street and Marshall Street, after it was seen driving at a high rate of speed. The officer reportedly noticed signs of impairment in the driver, identified as 23-year-old Sergio Gomez-Gonzalez. Gomez-Gonzalez allegedly refused to complete the standard sobriety field tests and resisted arrest, but was taken into custody. The passenger, identified as 22-year-old Brayan Ramirez-Ramirez, reportedly began interfering with officers’ attempts to arrest Gomez-Gonzalez. Officers subsequently tried to arrest Ramirez-Ramirez, but he resisted arrest and ultimately caused minor injury to two officers before being taken into custody.
Delaware could see triple digit temperatures on Tuesday
If you’re a big fan of the heat and humidity, Tuesday will have it all. The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures on Wednesday to flirt with 100 degrees. "Tuesday is going to the hottest day of the year it looks like right now in the forecast we have widespread 99s in the in the forecast right now with some triple digits especially in the more urbanized areas like Newark and Wilmington,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Eric Hoeflich. “So, I think somebody is going to hit triple digits in Delaware, and it's going to be helped by the fact dew points are going to be in the 70s so it's just going to feel downright tropical."
