‘I think it’s time to bow out:’ West Hartford restaurant will close in August
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Corner Pug announced Thursday it will be closing its doors on Aug. 17. Restaurant owner Ted Vetter, 75, said in a Facebook post, “Since the pandemic our business plan has changed. Prices have skyrocketed, from chicken wings to insurance coverage and dramatic labor costs.”

The North Haven Police Department has reported an overall downward trend in crime in town after comparing the figures from the first half of 2024 to the first half of 2023. “There's been a lot more proactivity as far as traffic stops and suspicious activity stops,” Chief Kevin Glenn informed The Courier.

Cooper, with 121 games under her belt, returns for her fifth season, having excelled in previous seasons and finishing third in team points last year. Samoskevich, a graduate student defender with 130 games of experience, and Urban, who played in 128 games, both bring valuable leadership and performance to the team.
