    BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset Patriots were defeated by the Portland Sea Dogs 3-0 on Friday night at TD Bank Ballpark in game four of a six-game series, managing only three hits.

    The hits were few and far between; Spencer Jones had the only extra-base hit, a double in the eighth inning; the Patriots were also issued four walks.

    The Patriots were shut out for the sixth time this season and first time since 7/11 @ERI.

    RHP Bailey Dees (6 IP, 3 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 5 K) took the loss in his 20th outing (19th start) of the season.

    RHP Jesus Liranzo (2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K) threw two shutout frames with 2 K. Liranzo has not allowed a run over his last six outings since 6/26 @RIC, spanning 9 IP in which he has 12 K. Liranzo has only allowed a run in two of his 14 appearances this season.

    SS Alexander Vargas (1-for-3) extended his hit streak to five games, over which he is 7-for-18 (.388) with 1 HR, 8 RBI, and 2 R.
