WINCHESTER - Beth Preston, a Winchester resident since 2002 where she resides with her three kids and two dogs, is gearing up for her seventh Pan-Mass Challenge ride in the fight against cancer on Aug. 3 and 4. Preston herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2017 and joined the roughly one in eight women who receive that diagnosis. She stated she was grateful that there was regular screening in place that was able to detect her tumor. Throughout her year of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, she felt fortunate to have solid treatment options and a very good prognosis.

Framingham Man Convicted of Rape and Armed Robbery at Red Roof Inn
A Framingham man, Lance McDonald, 37, has been convicted on several charges including two counts of rape, armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and a wiretap violation. These convictions relate to an incident at the Red Roof Inn in Framingham where he assaulted a 42-year-old woman. According to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, McDonald arranged to meet the victim on April 25, 2022, after responding to an advertisement for sexual services.
