No arrests in late Sunday night shooting in Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — No arrests have been made in a shooting late Sunday that sent a local man to the hospital. According to a report filed at the Peoria Police Department, officers were called to the emergency department at OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center at about 10 p.m. on a report of a man who was shot.

According to Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Calhoun, firefighters with the department responded to a house fire in the 2300 block of West Lincoln Avenue in south Peoria. He said that Truck 4 arrived at the scene and said a one-story home had a small amount of smoke coming from its front door.

Woman and two boys caught with handguns early Wednesday in Central Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Three people, including two teenagers, were arrested early Wednesday morning on weapons charges, the Peoria police reported. All three — Wenoke E. March. 32, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy — were arrested on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The two boys were taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center while March was taken to the county jail.

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police said the driver of a vehicle was arrested after allegedly having a stolen and disassembled rifle in his vehicle. Ronnie Winfield Jr., 42, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID.

Man sentenced to 123 years for Bloomington murder
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A man was sentenced to more than 100 years in prison on Monday for the death of Jaleel Johnson in Oct. 2020. According to McLean County Circuit Court records, Malcolm J. Johnson, 31, was sentenced to serve 123 years in prison. That breaks down to 75 years for murder, 45 years for attempted murder and three years for obstructing justice.
District 205 teacher pleads not guilty to felony theft charge
A Galesburg School District teacher charged with felony theft, six years after she pleaded guilty to similar charges in another case, is pleading not guilty. Michelle White, 54, made the plea in Knox County Court Wednesday afternoon, where she also asked for a trial by jury, and waived her right to a preliminary hearing.
